After researching automotive shops all across Fort Wayne, Indiana, I can confidently say that A-1 Automotive absolutely deserves its reputation as one of the highest-rated shops in the area. They hold that standard appropriately in every way possible. I’ve experienced automotive shops that take 6+ hours to complete operations that these guys finished in about an hour and a half maximum. The level of professionalism, efficiency, and honesty here is seriously impressive. My vehicle had a short circuit issue involving the thermostat system. What originally looked like it could turn into a $1,200+ repair ended up costing significantly less, saving me several hundreds of dollars, because they only replaced the parts that were absolutely necessary and kept the components that were still functioning properly. That kind of honesty is rare nowadays. What truly stood out to me was Bill, the owner. There were absolutely no pigtail connectors available anywhere in Fort Wayne from any distributor, and the only one we could even find online was located in California for around $200. On his WEEKEND OFF, Bill personally drove all the way to southern Indiana to locate the part for me and found one for only $1. That alone saved me an incredible amount of money and stress. We had to move the repair over to Monday, but he kept my car in safe driving condition until the operation was ready to be completed. As a 21-year-old college student with very little knowledge about internal vehicle systems, I never once felt left in the dark. Throughout the entire process, they constantly informed me about what was wrong, showed me diagnostic images through their website system, and explained the best long-term solution for my vehicle in a way that was easy to understand. Bill is extremely kind, patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely willing to work with you to help put your mind at ease throughout the entire process. The technicians are professional, the communication is seamless, the turnaround time is incredible, and the pricing is beyond fair for the quality of work you receive. I will absolutely be servicing my vehicle at A-1 Automotive from now on.

It's so nice to have a mechanic you can trust. Been coming to Bill and the folks at A-1 for six or seven years, for various service on two different vehicles. Always professional, quick and timely and good communication. I never feel like I'm paying for something that I don't need, and I trust the work they do. They're fast, knowledgeable, and stand by their work, and the price is always reasonable. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic in Fort Wayne.

Always fair & they understand (more than any other shop) how much car repairs can weigh a budget down. I always appreciate thier attitude & willingness to not only help thier customers but also how they empathize with them. They're the only shop I use, when I need help outside my scope or skills.
